On Wednesday after all the lovely snow we had our annual Student-led conferences. The students took their parents around the school and showed them what they do in each subject and in homeroom time. We were so happy at all the parents who used this opportunity to come and share in their child's learning. Below are some pictures and videos of the event.
Today Alex shared some very interesting facts about the Second world war with us, it helped us to get the whole big picture of the scale of this war. Feel free to watch the video included in the power point about WORLD WAR II from SPACE. What a magical morning with the world covered in white and it's still snowing! Even though we are enjoying this special experience at BIFS (where it rarely happens) we hope everyone will take care on the roads and sidewalks and be save. The school will keep all parents update on changes with transportation routes if any roads are dangerous.
Today is the start of the Winter Olympics in Sochi. It will run until February 23rd. In our Upper Assembly on the 28th of February we will be having a quiz show about the Winter Olympics. We are watching these videos as preparation for our next very important unit about HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES. This unit will be the unit where we prepare for the Grade 5 Exhibition. Here are some videos shared by some of the students with the class: After the lovely warm break we got right back to advertising our products that will be sold this week at the Grade 5 Market day. We are very excited to see what will happen. Jonathan also started off our day by reporting on the news for the week. We were glad to learn that Michael Shumacher has woken up from his coma. |
