Today Christine share some information with us about fencing and Jonathan shared the news with us. The bird flu is looking quite serious in Korea at the moment. We will be watching some videos in class to discuss, please watch the video about Caine's arcade: We kicked off the week with some news from our reporter Jonathan and a Monday talk by Zwa. With a new year comes new students, and we have been happy to welcome Han Keat and his family to Grade 5 Red and to Busan. Han Keat is joining us from Malaysia and this is his first PYP and first international school. We hope him and his family will settle in quickly.
Unfortunately we also have to say our goodbye this week to Eileen. Her and her family will be moving to China. I know they have build many strong relationships while being here in Korea and it will be hard to say goodbye. We wish them lots of happiness in their new adventure! Reading, writing and saying the time, especially using an analog clock can be quite tricky sometimes. Below is a game to test your how well you can read and say time on an analog clock.
This morning our class reporter Jonathan gave us a quick update on what goes on around Korea, the world and our school. Then Miffy shared with us some interesting facts about the amazing islands of the Maldives. We are all dreaming of visiting there one day. A great start to the week. Yesterday in ICT we looked at some video advertisements and spoke about their effectiveness. We will be creating video advertisements for products we will sell in school. We hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and festive season either here at home snuggled up or abroad maybe on a tropical beach. Today we started Term 2 with a bit of spring cleaning, some reflection about our last summative tasks, a few very well prepared talks and a new student who joined our ranks. Han Keat Yap and his family just moved to Busan from Malaysia and we welcome them to Korea and Grade 5 Red. Then Yasar and Sarah each spent a bit of their vacation preparing some great talks. We learned so much. Please have a look at the powerpoint and prezi they each created. |
